Obituary for James M. Musser

James M. Musser, 64, of Bowmansville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home, following a several-year battle with ALS. His wife of 43 years, Susan K. (Burkhart) Musser, survives.

Born in Denver, he was the son of the late Mark G. and Maria Z. (Martin) Musser.

Prior to retiring Jim was co-owner of Hibshman’s Auto Service in East Earl.

He was a member of Gehman Mennonite Church and the Bowmansville Fire Company for many years. He served as Fire Chief for 17 years.

He enjoyed camping, the outdoors and hunting near Wellsboro at his hunting camp. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Andrew married to Julianne Musser and their children Jackson and Reagan of New Holland; Eric married to Lauren Musser and their children Noah, Joel and Ainsley of Bowmansville; and Douglas Musser of Lynchburg, VA and six siblings: Lillian Worley, Robert married to Ruth Musser, Mary Ellen Musser, Miriam Musser, Grace married to John Sensenig, and Sylvia married to Carl Eberly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law James Worley and a sister-in-law Miriam Musser.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Rd., East Earl. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 - 10 a.m. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to the Bowmansville Fire Company, P. O. Sue and family,
We are saddened to hear of Jim's passing.
May the Lord give you strength during this difficult time.
I was privileged to call Jim friend and teammate as we played many years of hockey together. So many fond memories.
We live for the hope of Glory, and the thought of Jim in the presence of the Lord gives us comfort and wonder.
