Charles Harold Sagner, 75, of New Holland, departed this Earth on March 25, 2019 to be with his Saviour, Jesus Christ.
He was married 52 years to Bonnie Nolt Sagner. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Harold J. and Margaret Robinson Sagner.
Charlie graduated from S. Horace Scott Senior High School in 1961. He worked as a welder and then later as a supervisor at New Holland Agriculture, now CNH, for 37 years.
Charlie was a prime example of an outdoorsman. If he wasn’t hunting or fishing, Charlie could be found dusting clay pigeons across the United States at a variety of clubs. He was an active member of the NRA and the Amateur Trapshooting Association. From 1980 to 2004, Charlie enjoyed creating beautiful decoys. He taught himself how to carve, burn detailed feathers and paint many masterpieces.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Lynn wife of John Mangle, and Chris wife of Rob Sengle; a son, Jeffrey husband of Tricia Sagner; and two granddaughters, Nicole and Megan Sagner.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 31, at 3:00 P.M. at the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church, 4833 Division Highway, East Earl, PA. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlie’s memory may be made to the New Holland Rod and Gun Club, 824 Peters Road, P.O. Box 174, Gordonville, PA 17529.

Bonnie, Lynn, Jeff and Chris,
I was so sorry to hear of Charlie's going home. I have wonderful memories of our children growing up together and the great memories. You both were great neighbors and I still miss my friends and neighbors in New Holland. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord comfort you and give you peace that comes from knowing our Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word.

I was saddened to here of Charlies passing. I still have a rifle that I bought from him in the early 70s. I have so many good memories of him but the best one is a trip to Wyoming in the mid 70s during a gas shortage. 4 of us piled all our stuff [ guns, sleeping bags, and everything needed for a 10 day hunt] into Charlies ram charger and away we went, no stopping to sleep, nothing but miles and miles of cramped discomfort. We got there hunted and came home the same way. Charlie was truely one of a kind, gifted carver, hard hunter, great trap shooter, but above all a good friend. Don Witwer
