Donna and I have worked together for probably close to 20 years. She was my co-worker and friend before she ever became my boss. However, even after she became my boss (and we didn't agree on an approach to an issue), she was always my friend. I can remember her asking me to do things that I didn't really want to do. I'd say no and she'd tell me to "Please do it anyway." That was our standard bicker type work banter. :) And I always did as I was asked. I never had an issue doing anything Donna asked me to because she was the kind of boss that everyone wanted. She was fair and reasonable. Of course, I say that knowing that others thought that I was one of her favorites. She was always there to listen to me complain, or to hear about my children's accomplishments.
I will miss her terribly and still cannot believe that she will never jabber me anymore, or respond to an urgent email.
Len and Matt, my deepest and sincerest condolences for your loss.
