Obituary for Dr. Fred R. Taylor

Dr. Fred R.   Taylor
Dr. Fred R. Taylor, 65, of Leola, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19, 2015. His wife, Linda (Wright) Taylor, survives. They had celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on August 5th.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Fred R. and Mary (Dillon) Taylor.

Dr. Taylor graduated from Villanova University, Hahnemann Medical College and the LGH Family Practice program. He practiced Family Medicine in Warren, PA and New Holland.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he served as a Lector. He enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and hiking. But above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children: Dr. Abe married to Rachel Taylor, Annville; Mary married to Dan Walters, Lancaster; Tessa married to Matt Martinez, Mt. Joy; Hannah Taylor partner of Shannon Elliott, Wilmington, DE; Dr. Susie married to David Johns, Wyoming, PA; Jack Taylor, Leola and seven grandchildren: Max, Dillon, and Molly Walters, Gwen and Nolan Johns, Owen Taylor, and Amelia Martinez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland, with Fr. Walter Guzman officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata. A visitation will be held at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
