Obituary for Dorothy A. Usner (Scott)

Dorothy A. Usner, 91, of East Earl, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital, of natural causes.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Harold J. and Anna (Vanderslice) Scott. Her husband, Leon J. “Jake” Usner, died in 1996.
Dorothy worked at Rutt’s Kitchens in Goodville until her retirement in 1984.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church, the Garden Spot Fire Rescue Ladies Aux. in Blue Ball, and the V.F.W. Post 7362 Ladies Aux.
Surviving are two sons, John L. Usner of East Earl, and Kevin E. Usner of East Earl; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is a son, W. David Usner; two sisters, Thelma Detwiler and Jeanne Sandoe; and two brothers, Donald and James Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at 10 am at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, with the Rev. Dr., Krisana Poontajak officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Ephrata. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9-10 am at the Funeral Home.
