Obituary for Ruth L. Mast (Landes)
Ruth Landes Mast of Elverson passed suddenly from natural causes on January 25, 2019. She was 88 years old.
Born in Hatfield, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Edna (Godshall) Landes. In 1951, she married Milford S. Mast of Morgantown. They had five children. Ruth was a devoted wife who supported her husband’s farming and business ventures throughout 61 years of marriage, and a most loving mother and grandmother.
Ruth is survived by four children: Carol A. Swailes (Brett), David L. Mast (Janet), Dennis L. Mast, and Janet Mast; eleven grandchildren: Erin Detwiler, Leah Mast-Heller, Melissa Castro, Jacqueline Lampert, Hanna Mast, Alexa Swailes, Elise Gordon, Megan Boerema, Elena Mast, Nicholas Boerema, and Allison Boerema; ten great-grandchildren; and six siblings.
She was preceded in death by a son, Galen, in 1964; her husband in 2012; her parents; and three step-siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, MARCH 2, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 2286 Hopewell Road, Elverson, with visitation time for one hour prior to the service and a luncheon following.
