Obituary for Roland Joseph Scarinci

Roland J. Scarinci, 76, of New Holland, PA and Seminole, FL, passed away on October 29, 2020 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born to parents Eugene and Edna (Fitzroy) Scarinci, on July 24, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA. He celebrated 10 years of marriage to Emily (Robinson) Scarinci on September 11th.
After attending Overbrook High School, Roland proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He later attended St. Joseph’s University, and worked for many years in the telephone industry for both Bell of PA and AT&T.
In addition to his wife, Roland is survived by son Vincent Scarinci of Pottstown, PA, daughter Andrea Scarinci of Bartonsville, PA, son Roland S. Scarinci of Winchester, CA, brother Eugene Scarinci of West Palm Beach, FL, sister Joann (Scarinci) Taggart of Oldsmar, FL, as well as 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Roland was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Edna Scarinci, and brother Joseph L. Scarinci.
Roland was known for his love of music having been an accomplished “doo-wop” singer in his teenage years. He resided in Holmes, PA for many years, and he was an active member of both the Kedron Youth Association and the Cub Scouts. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching games on his DVR with his beloved wife Emily. He was proud of his service in the USMC, and could always be found with a USMC baseball cap on his head.
A celebration of Roland’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
