Rodney L. Usner, 70, of East Earl, died Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his dear family. He is survived by his wife with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, Wanda L. (Marshall) Usner.
Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late Leroy C. and Miriam E. (Ewell) Usner.
Rod was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church and Howell Lodge # 405, F & A.M.
He was the owner/operator of Usner Excavating for nearly 50 years. Rod enjoyed his work, riding motorcycle, traveling and most of all spending time with family. He especially loved his role as Pop Rod and Pappy.
Also surviving are five children: Rodney L. Usner II married to Brenda, East Earl, Jennifer L. Leaman married to Dean, East Earl, Frank L. Usner married to Angie, New Holland, Marshall L. Usner married to Emily, East Earl, Matthew L. Usner married to Shanna, 12 grandchildren: Chelsea Hurst married to Brandon, Hannah Usner, Lilly Leaman, Olivia Usner, Koy Leaman, Owen Usner, Kane Leaman, Cooper Usner, Mitchell Usner, Sophia Usner, Harper Usner, Finley Usner and a brother Donald L. Usner married to Sally, East Earl.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Dean M. Usner and Timothy C. Usner.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Rd., New Holland. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and Saturday from Noon-1 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
