Obituary for Paul M. Martin

Paul M Martin, 90, of Lititz, PA passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday June 7, 2019 at Landis Homes Retirement Community. He was a loving husband to his wife Betty Neff Martin, for 69 years.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by daughters Ruthie, wife of Vernon Martin of Lititz; Janie, wife of Everett Buckwalter of Smoketown; and a son, Doug, husband of Crystal Sweigart Martin of Brownstown; and was preceded in death by daughter Joanne, wife of Dale Buckwalter.

In addition he was blessed to have in his life 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and one grandson who preceded him in death. Paul was extremely proud to be the patriarch of this entire loving Martin family.

Paul was the son of David H and Mary W Martin of New Holland. He is survived by three brothers, Titus Martin of Clymer, NY; Luke Martin of Lititz, PA; and Roy Martin of Indianapolis, IN and was preceded in death by a sister Esther Lee and a brother John Martin.

Paul began life on the family farm until he ventured into the business world in the spring of 1963 at Victor F Weaver. After 25 years in various leadership roles at Weaver’s, he held positions at Conestoga Wood Specialties and Landis Homes Retirement Community. Paul also had a love for volunteer board work. He was actively involved at his home church, New Holland Mennonite for many years as well as (MEDA) Mennonite Economic Development Associates and Bridge of Hope National.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the Hospice Home Care Team and the staff of the Hospice Center in Mount Joy as well as the Manheim House Care Team at Landis Homes. The care, grace and love that these people and organizations provided for Paul and his family were truly a gift from God during his last days.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring Paul’s life at the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 on Sunday June 16, 2019 at 4:00pm with Chaplain Anne K Weaver officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday June 15, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00pm in the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes and from 3:00pm until the time of service on Sunday.
