Obituary for Nancy Jane VanLandeghem

Nancy Jane VanLandeghem, of New Holland, Pa, surrounded by her children, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Born on August 2, 1933, to the late Ralph E. and Matilda Frenk, Nancy was raised in Northeast Philadelphia, graduated in 1951 from Frankford High School, and then worked in banking and business. She married Leonard VanLandeghem on July 25, 1959 and they moved to Jeffersonville where they raised their four children. They later moved to Elverson, and after Leonard’s death in 2009, Nancy moved to Garden Spot Village in New Holland, where she resided at the time of her death.
Nancy was an active member of Community Church at Garden Spot Village, and a former member of Elverson United Methodist Church, Green Tree Church of the Brethren and Wissinoming United Methodist Church.
Nancy has always enjoyed crafting and card and board games. Earlier in life, she collected handkerchiefs as she traveled, and later she had an extensive nativity collection that she loved to share. Most of all, she loved people and serving others. This was evident in her volunteer work at Garden Spot Village and Chapel, but also in her earlier work with Disaster Relief, Meals on Wheels, and the Morgantown Food Bank.
Nancy loved her family and is survived by two daughters, Dawn V Newswanger, wife of Gary, of Elverson and Lynda L Ballentine, wife of Steven, of Carlisle; two sons, David S. VanLandeghem, husband of Patricia, of Elverson, and Edward A. VanLandeghem, husband of Karin of Bel Air, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Andrew VanLandeghem, Grant Newswanger, Jacob Ballentine, husband of Abigail, Moriah Yost, wife of Caleb, Kevin Ballentine, Jillian VanLandeghem and Lucas Ballentine; one great-grandchild, Oliver Yost.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alberta Frenk and her brother Robert Frenk.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating her life at Community Church at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, Pa, on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:00pm. Officiating will be Pastor Chet Yoder. The service will be livestreamed at http://www.gardenspotvillage.org/live Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00pm at the church.
