Obituary for Martha M. Sangrey (Mann)

Martha M. Sangrey, 89, formerly of Lancaster, died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Landis Homes.
She was married 39 years to the late Landis K. Sangrey who died in 2017. Born in Manor Twp, she was the daughter of the late Ira K. and Annie S. Kendig Mann.
Martha was a 1948 graduate of Penn Manor High School and received a Junior College Bible Degree from Eastern Mennonite University in 1952.
Martha worked for 22 years for Philhaven Hospital first as an activities director and then as an admissions director. She enjoyed working at a Boys Camp in NY and a camp in Homestead, FL over the years.
She was a member of the Mellinger Mennonite Church. She enjoyed working with her husband in Ministry, entertaining and knitting mittens for relief.
Surviving are step children, Yvonne (Clayton) Zeiset, Karl Sangrey, Janice (Kenneth) Bucher, Jeanette (Kenneth) Barber, Patricia (David) Dence; a step daughter in law, Marilyn Sangrey; 11 step grandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren; a sister, Cora Hoover; a brother in law, Lamar Stauffer; and a sister in law Pauline Mann. She was preceded in death by a step son, Dennis Sangrey, a step daughter in law, Helen Sangrey, by sisters, Esther Mann, Edith Gochnauer Shaub, Helen Herr, Anna Mann and Kathryn Stauffer; by a brother, George Mann; and by nieces and nephews Darlene Eschbach, Mary Gochnauer, Martha Gochnauer and Steve Mann.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Leon Oberholtzer officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Silver Spring Cemetery prior to the service on Saturday. However, friends may greet the family at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha’s memory may be made to the Caring Fund at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543.
