Obituary for June G. Huss (Griffith)

June G. Huss, 96, of Lititz, formerly of New Holland, died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Luther Acres in Lititz after a long good life.
Born in Coatesville, June 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Merion W. and Kathryn M. (Kline) Griffith. Her loving husband, Warren Huss, Jr., died in 1984.
June graduated from Coatesville High School, in 1940, and began working as a telephone switchboard operator with Bell Telephone. June was a post-war bride, and with her husband, Warren, moved to New Holland where they raised their children. During that time, she also worked for New Holland Machine Company, as a secretary. Later, she worked for 12 years, also as a secretary, for New Holland Church Furniture until her retirement in 1984. In addition, she worked part time at Zeimer’s Buick, and also from 1988-1993 for the Groff-High-Eckenroth Funeral Home.
She was a faithful, active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland where she participated in the Lutheran Church Women along with serving as secretary for the congregation and for the Sunday School. She loved Bible Study. She was a member of the Samuel Fear Chapter #417 Order of Easter Star in Honey Brook, the New Holland Senior Citizens, and the Blue Ball Sunshine Club. She also served as a board member of Meals on Wheels in New Holland.
Surviving are two sons, Marlin W., married to Lynda Huss of Ephrata, and Howell W. Huss of Leola; a daughter, Carol J., married to the Reverend Torben G. Aarsand of Hagerstown, MD; a granddaughter, Kay Margaret Aarsand; and a great granddaughter, Hailey Schultz.
A Christian funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
