Obituary for Gertrude "Trudy" Kuserk (deVries)
Gertrude “Trudy” (deVries) Kuserk, 92, of New Holland, passed away on April 28, 2022 as a resident of Garden Spot Village.
She met her loving husband, Frank Kuserk on an Elder Hostel trip hosted by Garden spot Village. The two fell in love and blended their families of adult children. Trudy and Frank loved traveling, dancing, and socializing. Trudy also enjoyed singing in Our Lady of Lourdes’ choir, cross stitching with a group or alone, and volunteering throughout Garden Spot. They embraced every friendship they found in each stage of life.
Trudy’s family is thankful that she blossomed under the loving, professional care of the entire staff of Garden Spot Village Fallcrest during her last four years.
Prior to living at Garden Spot, Trudy lived a full life. Professionally, she was a dedicated nurse for Broomall Pediatrics, where she retired. She was a member of St. Anastasia’s Parish in Newtown Square. She raised her two sons, Michael and John, in Newtown Square. Her first husband, Joe, and his family, added much joy to her life.
Trudy was born and raised in the Netherlands. She joked about growing up in Holland and retiring to New Holland. She survived WWII in Holland with the love and support of her parents, brother, Peter, and dear sister, Fietje.
Trudy completed her nursing studies at The American Hospital of Paris. She boldly came to the United States, and the rest is history!
Trudy is survived by her sister, niece, nephew and their families in Holland. She is survived by her sons, Frank’s wonderful family, and many grandchildren. Friends and family will miss her while cherishing her memory. They know her positive imprint will last for generations.
