Obituary for George W. Stafford
George W. Stafford, 97, of Ephrata, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Fairmount Homes.
Born in East Earl, he was a son of the late Henry L. and Laura Elsie (Fox) Stafford. His wife, Mary Jane (Flickinger) Stafford, died May 3, 2003.
George retired in 1982, after 39 years, as a Tool Repairman, for Dana Corporation.
He was a member of St. Johns Center United Church of Christ, and the Dutchland Polkateers. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening along with woodworking.
Surviving is a daughter, Arlene F. Rutter of Ephrata; a son, Donald G., married to Bonnie Stafford of Reinholds; and three grandchildren, Ian Stafford, Caitlin Stafford and Tanya Rutter.
Preceding him in death are seven brothers and sisters, Cora Wenger, Irene Flickinger, Hilda Hornberger, Raymond, Henry, Paul, and Frank Stafford.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18 at 11 am at St. Johns Center U.C.C., 432 Reading Road, East Earl. Interment will be in the Center Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 10 – 11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org/pa.
