Frederick Loring Thompson, Sr., 91, of Ephrata, passed away at home on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
He was married 70 years to Sarah Joan DeArmond Thompson. Born in Ridley Park, he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Mary Virginia Fluharty Thompson.
Fred had owned and operated a Texaco Gas Station in Springfield, PA for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid baseball player in his younger years. He enjoyed cutting his grass and watching sports.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Linda L. wife of David R. Hopfer, Sr., of Honey Brook, Deborah A. Cook of Cooksburg, PA, and Tamela J. wife of Christie E. Burrell of Gap; a son, Frederick L., Jr. husband of Kimberly A. Thompson of Stocksdale, NC, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Thompson of Secane, PA and Jean Burns of Millville, NJ.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 10:00 A.M. at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA. Interment in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA
