Obituary for Edward Woodrow Wance

Edward Woodrow Wance, 103, of New Holland passed away on February 13, 2022 while a resident of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata.
Born in Coburn, Centre County, he was the son of the late Sumner and Ruth M. (Winklebelch) Wance.
He was the loving husband of Charlotte I. (Shawver) Wance, with whom he married on April 20, 1946 and shared seventy five loving years of marriage.
He was a 1937 graduate of East Penns Valley High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during WWII. He was a member of the New Holland American Legion Conestoga Post 662. He was quite the handyman and enjoyed watching Penn State football and the Phillies, gardening, attending auctions, chatting with friends and driving around town in his 1954 Dodge pickup truck.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Timothy and his wife Becky, of Port Orchard, WA and a daughter, Kimberlea Hershey of New Holland, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents; he is predeceased by a grandson; Jacob W. Hershey, brothers; William, Malvin, Marshal, Richard and a sister Jean.
A graveside service will be held in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, 138 E Plum Street, Aaronsburg, PA 16820 on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland and Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim are entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
