Obituary for Edgar H. Eidemiller

Edgar H. Eidemiller, 86, resident of Terre Hill, passed away on Thursday, March 07, 2019, at Landis Homes. He was a man of faith, a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Nancy (Shirk) Eidemiller. Born in Denver, PA, he was the son of the late William H. and Edna (Keith) Eidemiller.
Edgar was a graduate of Terre Hill High School, class of 1950. He served in the First Armored Division of the United States Army, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, from 1953-1955. He was employed by New Holland Machine Company for 41 years, now Case New Holland.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Terre Hill where he served on the administrative board. He also had been a trustee and treasurer of the Terre Hill Cemetery and was a member of the Terre Hill Borough Council for several years. Edgar was a former member of the Garden Spot Lions Club.
Edgar enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching and playing golf.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Sharon, wife of Jay F. Custer, Newark, DE, and Cynthia, wife of F. Charles Shermeyer, Newark, DE; four grandchildren, Jason Custer (Margaret), Ketchikan, AK., Jacqueline Wolffe (Matthew), Rising Sun, MD, Kelli Shermeyer (Kurt), Charlottesville, VA, and Andrew Shermeyer, Bloomington, IN. Two great-grandchildren, Conor Ewasko and Victoria Custer; a sister, Virginia Windham, The Villages, FL; a brother, Glenn (Marie) of Ephrata; and a sister-in-law, Jerelyn of Lititz. Nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, Richard.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Visitation on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St, Terre Hill, PA. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with a graveside service following at Terre Hill Cemetery. Pastor Randy Leitzel will be officiating.
