Obituary for Cosette F. "Cosy" Sweigart (Buchanan)

Cosette F. “Cosy” Sweigart, 64, of Blue Ball, died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Lancaster General after a five year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born in Ephrata, she was a daughter of Charles Buchanan, Sr. and the late Grace (Boley) Buchanan. She was married 37 years on May 9 to Brian W. Sweigart.
Cosy worked as an LPN for Lancaster General Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she served as Missions Chairperson. As a member of the Garden Spot
Fire Rescue, she served as treasures for 14 years, and with the ladies auxiliary as treasurer for four years. She was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and a former member of the Lioness Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband and father is her step-mother, Bessie; a sister, Teresa, married to Clifford Diem; a brother, Charles, married to Shirley Buchanan; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Buchanan and Judy Boldaz-Samuels; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Preceding her in death is a brother, Eric Buchanan in 2017.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute and especially Dr. Balepur, for all their care. Also, a thank you for all the help and care of the staff at Lancaster General Hospital ER, ICU, and the 7th floor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 22 at 10 am at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 753 Mt. Zion Road, Narvon. Interment will be in the Bridgeville Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and on Friday from 9-10 am at Mt. Zion UM Church.
