Clyde W. Martin, 87, of Ephrata, formerly of East Earl, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Fairmount Home. He and his wife Frances M. (Shirk) Martin would have observed their 67th wedding anniversary in March.
Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Tobias and Ella (Weaver) Martin.
As a dairy farmer, Clyde served on several boards, notably Atlantic Breeders Cooperative and Lehigh Valley Farmers Coop. He had also served as an East Earl Township supervisor and road master. He was an active lifelong member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community.
In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by five children: Nelson married to Susan (Gingrich) Martin, Linda married to Jay Good, LaVern married to Beth (Wagner) Martin, Karen married to Dennis Stoner, Clifford married to Holly (Knepp) Martin, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Burkhardt and a sister-in-law Betty Z. Martin.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Good, a brother, Lester and a brother-in-law Arthur Burkhardt.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Rd., East Earl. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Sunday from 3 – 6 p.m. There will be no viewing on Monday.
