Obituary for Laban H. Martin

Laban H. Martin, 85, formerly of Terre Hill, died on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Fairmount Homes.
He was married 59 years to Anna Mae Yoder Martin. Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late Jonas D. and Mariah Horst Martin.
Laban was a truck driver and retired from Lester R. Summers Trucking after 44 years of employment. He was a member of the Hinkletown Mennonite Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Anita wife of Dennis Gettel of Denver, and Donna wife of Kevin Gerber of Lititz; a son, Brian husband of Gretchen Martin of Bowmansville; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brothers, Edgar husband of Helen June Martin of Lititz, and Elmer husband of Elsie Martin of Lampeter. He was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, and by two brothers, Abel and Nathan Martin.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 12, at 10:00 A.M. at the Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Highway, Ephrata, PA. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Wheat Ridge Chapel of Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, and at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Laban’s memory may be made to Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522.
