Obituary for Alma D. "Bud" Wixom

Alma D. Wixom, "Bud", age 92 of Maytown, PA was called home by his Lord on November 12, 2019.
The son of Alma and Ida Wixom, Bud was born in San Bernardino, CA. He spent most of his life in southern California. While attending high school during WWII, Bud was asked to drive the school bus until he graduated in 1945 and was drafted into the U.S. Navy. However, the war ended shortly after he was drafted and he returned home to Sealy where he went into business with his father. Later he went into the construction business until he retired. Even after retirement, he continued to work repairing homes with a non-profit organization helping low-income families and the elderly.
Bud had a passion for life and always had a smile and a joke to share. He enjoyed sharing stories that included working with Walt Disney, driving Norma Jean (Marilyn Monroe), visiting with Red Skelton, and meeting Bob Hope. He loved animals and frequently brought home rescues to rehabilitate. He was a loving and kind man that always took time to help someone in need. He will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure to know him.
Bud is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carole Spangler Wixom; two daughters Jennifer wife of Scott Peachey and Gwendolyn Easley; three granddaughters and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his brother David, sister Maxine, and two sons, Eric D. Wixom and John A. Raymer.
Services are to be held at the Eckenroth Funeral Home in Terre Hill, PA on Monday, November 18th at 11 AM.
