Obituary for Arlene G. Sommers (Sensenig)

Arlene G. Sommers, 65, of Lititz, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017, surrounded by her family at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center from complications related to her recent stem cell transplant. She rests now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Aaron W. and Esther S. (Good) Sensenig.
Arlene was a homemaker, caregiver, and longtime driver for Wheary’s Transportation. She was an active member of her church family, serving as a deaconess at Crossroads Community Fellowship. She was most recently a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church of New Holland. Arlene was happiest when serving her Lord and caring for those around her.
Arlene is survived by her husband of 47 years Moses V. Sommers and her three children: Joe Sommers married to Bonnie; Heidi Colsher married to Tom; and Jeremy Sommers married to Erin. Arlene delighted in her eight grandchildren: Joey, Brooke, Tommy, Cierra, Haley, Henry, Bennett, and Stella. She is also survived by her siblings: Melvin married to Elma (Nolt) Sensenig; Mabel King; Lester married to Kathryn (Good) Sensenig; Erma married to Clyde Hoover; Leon married to Lois (Wenger) Sensenig; and sister-in-law Edna (Hess) Sensenig Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd G. and Earl G. Sensenig, and sister, Pauline G. Sensenig.
Services will be at the Weaverland Mennonite Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA on Saturday, December 30th at 2:30 PM. Viewing hours will be held at the same location on Friday, December 29th from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 1:30-2:30 PM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In her illness, Arlene was unable to enjoy fresh flowers. In her death, please celebrate her life with flowers. They can be sent to Weaverland Mennonite Church.
