It is with overwhelming sadness the family of Nathan Richard Miller announces his passing after a brief illness on Saturday January 6th, 2018 at the age of 39 years. Nathan will be forever remembered by his partner of 12 years Jeffery Huffman, his mother and father Thomas and Marilynn Miller and his brothers and sisters Jennifer, Jesse, Sarah, Aaron, and Luke. He will also be sorely missed by his brother and sister-in-laws Johann, Michelle, John Paul, Jacelyn, and Keshia. His nieces and nephews Caleb, Katlyn, Chloe, Hannah, James, Sophia, Adam, Kevin, Bennett, Alanna, Reed, Maura, and Cohen will miss his endless energy and his ability to become a child at heart when he spent time with them. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Dorothy Yohannes. A native of Lancaster County, Nathan was a student at Garden Spot High School where he excelled both academically and athletically, graduating at the top of his class and winning numerous awards for his performances in track and cross country. After graduation he attended Penn State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. He moved to Miami and pursued a career in real estate where he developed a particular passion for the art deco properties in the area. Nathan created and maintained a website for Retro Home Miami where his brilliant photography focused on the unique architecture and decor of art deco homes being sold in the Miami area. He was also on the board of the Miami Design Preservation League. His colleagues remember his extraordinary ability to photograph the beautiful, unique buildings he sold. His passion for art deco homes culminated in the purchase of a building which he restored to its original glory and named Lucy’s Place. Nathan managed the property as an Airbnb to the delight of travelers from all over world.


A private memorial is being held by the family to celebrate Nathan’s life in Lancaster, PA. The Miami Design Preservation League is also planning a memorial event for Nathan in Miami, FL on a date to be determined.
